Precious Perez, “the blind reggaetonera,” is a disabled artist with American and Latin roots. Born in Boston to a Puerto Rican family, she is entering her new musical era after graduating with a double major in Music Education and Vocal Performance from Berklee College of Music. Her musical path has been accompanied by great influences in Latin music, which gave birth to her purpose: “To be the first blind latina at the forefront of the music industry, breaking the mold.” Within the past year, she has released a book through Young Norton Readers as part of a young activists series written for youth about her journey in music and disability. She has been featured in spaces like grammy.com and Telemundo. Precious actively works to advocate for music professionals with disabilities, serving as President of Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities (RAMPD), a role in which she represented on the Grammys red carpet at the start of 2024.
