Katherine Yoder (She/her/hers)

Executive Director & Founder, Adult Advocacy Centers

United States

As a person with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Katherine Yoder has a deep understanding of the effects of inequitable justice for crime victims with disabilities, and created the Adult Advocacy Centers (AACs), a non-profit organization, to address this national problem. As people with disabilities are victimized by violent crime at significantly higher rates, the services offered by the AACs are vital to working towards an equitable pathway to justice for crime victims with disabilities. Resources created by the AACs include A Guidebook for Immigrants and Refugees with Disabilities and A Resource Guidebook for Human Trafficking Victims and Survivors with Disabilities.
On May 4, 2023, Katherine created and coordinated a presentation about the need for specialized and disability-focused forensic interviews as an accommodation for crime victims with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
