Christopher D. Johnson is a Black Deaf educator, strategist, and systems builder advancing equitable education and community-rooted leadership. Since May 2024, he has made history as the first Black Deaf Assistant Dean at the University of Cincinnati, where he is reshaping institutional policy to center access and dismantle exclusionary structures. As the founder of Creative Minds, Christopher delivered the 2025 commencement address and created a dedicated role for recruiting ASL interpreters with cultural fluency and lived experience. He is currently developing a K–8 ASL curriculum for the Philadelphia School District, grounded in identity, empowerment, and language justice. His mentorship programs support Black Deaf youth in realizing their leadership potential. He also co-leads the 2024 Black Deaf Men’s Summit and serves as Founding Chair of the Glenn B. Anderson Scholarship Program. Through advocacy and coalition-building, Christopher champions a legacy of Black Deaf excellence and transformational education.
