Dibabe Bacha Degefa is a leading disability rights activist and feminist from Ethiopia, with over a decade of experience in inclusive development and movement building. She is dedicated to amplifying the voices of women with disabilities (WWD) and ensuring their full participation in public life. Over the past year, Dibabe has played a key role in global policy dialogues and continues to serve in national and international advisory roles across education, employment, health, and leadership. Her grassroots initiatives include training and mentorship programs that empower WWD to lead and advocate for change in their own communities. These efforts have strengthened visibility, access to services, and cross-sector advocacy networks throughout Ethiopia. In recognition of her transformative leadership, she received the 2021 Best East African Women Rights Defender award and the 2024 U.S. Department of State International Women of Courage Award.
