Ferdinand Lyngdoh Marshillong is a PhD scholar from Linguistic Department NEHU. He is Chairman of the Federation of Person with Disability. He is an advocate for Accessible Transportation in Shillong. He convinced the government to make accessible footpath across Laitumkhrah, to form the State Level Consultative Committee to look into issues of accessible transportation and implement reservation of two seats on public buses and 50% concession rate for PwDs. He conducts cross-disability training to empower PwDs, leaders, and youth. He published the Baseline Report on Accessibility Transportation. PwDs received access to transportation which is safe, convenient, and accessible. Indirectly they are able to get job opportunities and pursue higher education. He received the Shri Lalji Mehrotra Foundation Award for Excellence (2016), Outstanding Contributions in the field of Community Building, Education, and Disability (2019), and Award for First President of MDA (2014- 2021). He was selected for the International Visitor leadership Program in the USA (2023).
