Matthew Pierri (He/him/his)

CEO & Founder, Sociability

United Kingdom

Matthew founded a company to help disabled people find accessible places globally. His venture's scalable technology platform maps physical spaces around the world. For people with accessibility needs, knowing whether a venue is accessible or not lets them plan ahead and explore their communities with confidence, purpose, and ease. Matthew’s work is creating greater social inclusion for everyone in the disability community. He acquired a disability partway through life which gave him first-hand experience of the social exclusion that happens to many people with disabilities. He has spent his life working to make the world more accessible for everyone. He is multi-racial and very global -- his mother is Thai, father Italian, while he grew up between UK and Australia and speaks several languages. He decided to get four degrees: social science, policy, journalism, and law to give him a unique lens on the world.

This past year Matthew has:

(1) Developing a strategic partnership with Toyota Great Britain to improve inclusive mobility at a city and regional level.
(2) Developed a partnership with the multi-national firm ARUP (https://www.arup.com) to improve the accessibility of their global offices and the surrounding neighborhoods.
