Jill Nicole Moore (She/her/hers)

Inclusive Play Specialist with a playground manufacturer

United States

Jill is one of the only Inclusive Play Specialists in the world - She works with a leading playground manufacturer designing/creating playgrounds that are inclusive to all kids, ensuring that children with & without disabilities can play together. She is a mentor for 2 disabled teen girls with Disability EmpowHer Network, helping them on community impact projects and guiding them on ableism, sexism, and how to be confident as a disabled woman leader. Jill’s intentional in her DEI work, especially in the world of play. She secures grants to help construct inclusive playgrounds in low-income neighborhoods to ensure that children from all different backgrounds/incomes are able to play on accessible playgrounds & she hosts focus groups of disabled kids & their families to learn about their hopes for future playground access & ensures that the focus groups are diverse.

Jill teaches architects about inclusive design! Her webinar "A Higher Level of Inclusive Play" was named one of 2021's Top Ten Webinars by the American Society of Landscape Architects. She helped her mentees with their community projects! One reviewed domestic violence shelters to help them become more accessible. The other is implementing the 1st disability-led emergency preparedness group in her state! Both relied heavily on her for guidance/support.

We asked Jill if she’d like to add anything else to her accomplishments, she stated: “I suppose what I’m particularly proud of is my work to bring disability into inclusive design for the children’s play space. It makes the space so much more inclusive when it’s informed by lived experience so I’m really proud to be able to be that voice!”
