Grassroots Organizer Disabilities Justice

United States

Suzanne has dedicated their life to integrating and representing people with disabilities. Throughout their life and to this day, they have used civil resistance principled in nonviolence to demand equal access and equal rights for the disability community as well as the celebration of the disability community. They are the chairperson of GA ADAPT, a civil rights organization that uses nonviolence to end institutional bias against people with disabilities.

From July 2020- June 2021, Suzanne has worked continually to amplify representation and increase voter turnout amongst people with disabilities. In both the 2020 Presidential election and 2021 Georgia Senate Runoff election, leading GA ADAPT, She provided over 500 voters with disabilities rides to and from polling locations in addition to providing American Sign Languages interpreters at the polls. Due to their efforts, we demonstrate to the world the true power of the disability vote.
