Wendy is a powerhouse journalist and news editor whose work sheds needed light on the disability experience through an intersectional lens, filling critical gaps in mainstream media coverage. She has spoken globally about reporting on disability in the media and works tirelessly to advance positive disability representation. Her work consistently contributes to dialogues on disability. Her passion to shape the narrative around how we think about and write about disability remains steadfast. Wendy was selected as a 2020 Knight Visiting Nieman Fellow to focus on the state of disability reporting and representation in the media. This Harvard-based program offers short-term research opportunities to individuals interested in working on special projects designed to advance journalism. And, as part of her work at HuffPost, she has helped shape their style around disability and held trainings for our reporters on covering disability issues.
