Kiran is a 33-year old transman living with an orthopaedic disability, hailing from a tribal agricultural workers’ family in rural Telangana, India. He is a disability and transgender rights activist, working to build networks of transgender persons, increasing their access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and mental health services; and crisis intervention in cases of gender and sexuality based violence trans and queer persons living with disability in India. In the past year, Kiran has founded two very active groups: Karnataka Vikalachetanara Sanghatane and Society for Transmen Action and Rights group. Karnataka Vikalachetanara Sanghatane (KVS) is a 8642+ member strong network of persons living with disability (physical, visual and multiple disabilities) across the south Indian state of Karnataka. Society for Transmen Action and Rights group (STAR) is a 86 member strong network of transpersons across south Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Learn more about his work.
