U.N. Independent Expert on the enjoyment of human rights by persons with albinism

Nigeria

Ms. Ikponwosa Ero is a Nigerian lawyer and advocate for people with albinism. Ero started working for an albinism non-governmental organization in 2008 and is the inaugural United Nations Independent Expert on the enjoyment of human rights by persons with albinism since 2015. In September 2019, she completed a U.N. mission to South Africa, and in January 2020, she coordinated the formation of the Albinism Global Alliance. Learn more about her work.
