Podcast Episode 14: Fatphobia and Disability with Lissie Cox

Our fourteenth episode of Diversability Amplified is now live! This month, advocate and digital creator Lissie Cox (she/her) joins host Katherine for an exploration of the often forgotten intersection of disability and fatness. We dove into a variety of topics, to include the stigma of fatness in disability rights efforts, barriers to healthcare and accessibility, and how digital creators like Lissie are helping to make more realistic disabled representation possible.

Guest

Lissie Cox (she/her) is a fat and disabled advocate and digital creator. Using Instagram as her main platform, she is known for long rambly captions that are honest, vulnerable, and raw. She takes pride in being transparent and keeping things real, and not hiding the ugly parts of chronic illness and disability. A self proclaimed “life fat”, she is an advocate in body positive and fat liberation spaces.
