Meet Diversability Leadership Collective Member, Gábor Luci, who is seeking connection through global engagement. He is currently a Business Administration doctoral student who works with the Red Cross in homeless care as a street social worker and institution leader. He explained that, “Balancing academic, international, and frontline social work experiences has been both challenging and rewarding, and it represents an important direction in my personal and professional development.”

Gábor academic success is something he worked extremely hard to attain. He was diagnosed with AuDHD as an adult in 2017 although his autism had been evident since childhood. Growing up, he struggled with persistent difficulties in learning English, particularly in understanding abstract grammatical concepts such as tense and time. These challenges were not simply academic but also impacted his ability to process language and structure.

When reflecting on this journey, Gábor explains how important this current chapter of his life is both professionally and personally. “Engaging in doctoral-level studies in Business Administration while simultaneously connecting to international—especially American—communities reflects a significant step toward the environment I aim to be part of.” He recognizes that the true achievement has been the journey and process. Despite accessibility challenges, he’s continued to stay intellectually engaged and build meaningful connections.

Most importantly, Gábor recognized that “Emotionally, this progress brings a sense of validation, cautious optimism, and growing confidence. It shows that, even under limiting circumstances, I can move toward a more aligned, international, and intellectually active version of my life.”

Acknowledgement: Thank you Gábor Luci, a member of the Diversability Leadership Collective, for sharing your experiences.
