Reading The Anti-Ableist Manifesto was both powerful and perspective-shifting. Tiffany Yu offers an accessible and honest exploration of ableism, highlighting not only its more visible forms, but also the subtle, everyday ways it can show up in language, assumptions, and systems.

What makes this book especially impactful is its balance between awareness and action. Yu does not stop at naming the problem—she invites readers into the work. Through practical guidance and thoughtful reflection, she outlines clear ways individuals can become more intentional allies to the disability community. The book encourages ongoing self-examination while also empowering readers to take meaningful steps toward inclusion.

As a Licensed Master Social Worker, I found this book particularly relevant to both personal growth and professional practice. It reinforces the importance of approaching our work—and our interactions—with humility, curiosity, and a commitment to equity.

This is an essential read, especially for those who do not identify as disabled. It serves as a strong foundation for understanding disability justice and for building a more inclusive and accessible world.
