Delilah Versus The Ghastly Grim by T.L. McCoy explores Deliliah’s mind after a seizure. After the event, a door opens in Delilah's mind and she is catapulted to Othersphere, where she must battle a great evil. From the title alone there is a hint of magic and mystery, as you read the first few pages you are slowly enveloped into a world that is ruled by the power of one’s imagination - the perfect escape.

At first glance we are introduced to our protagonist Delilah, a young girl who suffers from bullying peers because she is different and Mr. Peabody an author who guides her into a mythical world. This adventure is accomplished with the support from Sir Theodril Ansford Nellid, the tiny lady bug residing in the corner of Mr. Peabody’s eye. And the rest is a journey into the unknown where our ‘shero’ uncovers her resilience, power and a sense of belonging as she learns to love herself above all.

So if the characteristics of an engaging and exciting read are a thought provoking title, a magical adventure of imagination and hope then this is a must read indeed.
