Tinkesh is a coach, motivational speaker, and social entrepreneur working to transform disability inclusion in India. At age nine, he survived an 11,000-kilovolt electrocution that resulted in a 90% locomotor disability and triple amputation. Rather than allowing physical barriers to define his future, Tinkesh has dedicated his life to demonstrating the possibilities of disabled people through advocacy, adventure, and community empowerment. In May 2024, he became the first triple amputee in the world to trek to Mount Everest Base Camp at an elevation of 17,598 feet. As founder of the Tinkesh Ability Foundation, he has led 32 disabled and nondisabled individuals on inclusive high-altitude treks to the Annapurna and Everest Base Camps. Through the Foundation, he has provided more than 600 hours of counseling to people with disabilities and caregivers, supplied advanced mobility aids to 11 para-athletes, and introduced more than 414 people with disabilities to adventure water sports. His achievements include the 2024 National Award from the President of India for Personal Excellence and Empowerment, the 2025 World Record of Excellence from England, and the 2024 International Human Rights Award. Through his work, Tinkesh is redefining perceptions of disability and human potential.
