Cassidy Dimon is a filmmaker, accessibility advocate, and Executive Director of FWD-Doc, a global, intersectional community of more than 1,300 disabled creators and allies working to build a more inclusive, accessible, and equitable entertainment industry. Cassidy has launched two filmmaker fellowship programs that provide disabled filmmakers with mentorship and professional development opportunities. In early 2025, they released a framework encouraging filmmakers and audiences to examine harmful disability tropes and the ongoing lack of authentic inclusion in media, work that was covered by Forbes. Cassidy also created the Accessibility Scorecard, a tool designed to advance disability inclusion and accessibility across the film festival landscape. The Scorecard is now used by more than 100 film festivals, improving access for audiences and disabled filmmakers alike. Through their leadership, Cassidy is helping build a stronger pipeline for disabled creators while challenging the entertainment industry to rethink who gets to tell stories and how those stories are shared. In 2024, they were selected as a Leader for a New Chicago by the Field and MacArthur Foundations.
