Fabiola Amaya is a social work student, community builder, and disability justice advocate creating more inclusive college campuses. As a Master of Social Work student at the University of Texas at Austin, she is the founder of On the Moov, a nonprofit that matches disabled students with trained volunteers to support daily campus tasks. Since May 2024, Fabiola has expanded the organization’s reach, strengthened training rooted in disability justice, and built partnerships to ensure sustainability. Her work affirms disabled identity, interdependence, and pride—reframing access as collective care. In 2025, she received the national AAPD Paul G. Hearne Emerging Leader Award for her peer-led approach to disrupting ableism in higher education. Fabiola continues to lead with vision and empathy, building systems that empower disabled people to thrive.
