Esther Kyozira is the CEO of the National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda and a tireless advocate for disability rights, economic empowerment, and inclusive development. With a background in human rights, education, and law, she brings over two decades of experience advancing systemic change. Previously, she served as Country Program Officer at the Disability Rights Fund and currently sits on the governing councils of Uganda’s National Curriculum Development Centre and Judicial Council. Since 2024, Esther has led national initiatives to improve disability data collection and expand livelihood programs. She established 212 inclusive iSAVE savings groups and supported over 7,300 people with disabilities, including 346 youth trained in vocational skills and equipped with startup kits. On May 1, 2024, she was awarded the Diamond Jubilee Medal by Uganda’s president in recognition of her lifelong dedication to disability rights.
