Nicole Kohr (She/her/hers)

Cystic Fibrosis Patient and Advocate; CEO & Founder, Colie Creations Inc

United States

To quote the founder of BreatheBravely, Nicole is a pioneer of inclusion and acceptance. After drafting “Fall Risk” over 10 years ago, she’s recruited hundreds of patients and advocates, and educated all of them about cystic fibrosis/transplant. Nicole brought the performers together over zoom during the covid outbreak, which gave actors and audience members a creative outlet. No matter what plagues her or blocks her path, she finds a way to make it work, and she brings the community along with her. My daughter is a cystic fibrosis (CF) patient, a bilateral lung transplant recipient, and an advocate. She is the volunteer engagement chair of CFF.org. She writes for two CF news columns. She’s the founder of Colie Creations Inc, a nonprofit that advocates for patients through stories. She authored 3 children’s books, all of which cater to the emotional/coping needs of young patients. She also authored “Fall Risk The Musical.” She never stops. She is so deserving.

This past year, Nicole organized an in-person baby fashion show themed around her award-winning children’s book “My Pants” - the story of a young, undiagnosed patient. The show brought visibility to local patients, allowed patients to participate in an accessible performance, and created a platform for patients to tell their stories. She offered all of this and more for free to the public and is moving “Fall Risk” from script to stage simultaneously. Did I mention she’s doing weekly cancer infusions?
