Lachi (She/her/hers)

President & Founder of RAMPD

United States

A blind, black award-winning recording artist, TV host (PBS), Audio Description voice actress (Netflix) & inclusion advocate, Lachi dedicates her life to amplifying Disability Culture, intersectionality & accessibility in the music industry. Founder of RAMPD, she serves on the GRAMMY Board, NORA Project Leadership Council, advises NIVA & Songwriters of North America DEI Committees, & consults folks including the White House, UN & Kennedy Center, promoting disability culture & inclusion. She is a first-generation Nigerian American blind female. Her family's American journey started very humbly in a small West Philadelphia townhouse, where she grew up a sixth of seven. She's since transformed from a very shy person who used art as an escape, to an outspoken social personality using music to create a new chapter in self-advocacy.

After spotlights in Billboard, Forbes & NYTimes, RAMPD steered the GRAMMYs implementation of the first-ever on-screen ramp, red carpet ASL, live audio description & live captioning at a music award ceremony, telecast nationally on CBS and globally on Paramount. They’ve since helped other music awards shows with stage ramp-access, ASL, captioning, and disabled presenters and performers, also creating first-ever disability inclusion panels with various music labels & organizations.
