Donna currently serves as a sign language interpreter at a NYC hospital. Aside from providing direct communication for Deaf, Deaf-Blind and hard of hearing patients, she collaborates with administrative staff on creating visual communication tools for patients to better manage their health. She is also an active member of Diversability and has led NYC community events connecting talented people with disabilities. In October 2019, Donna had the honor of speaking on a panel at the AnitaB.org Women in Tech conference. She had the opportunity to share her perspective on inclusiveness of people with disabilities in the workforce. Drawing on her personal experiences with hearing loss and as a Job Development specialist for Deaf and hard of hearing people helped others think about creating solutions by means of accommodating communication needs that benefit both hearing & Deaf employees in the workplace.
