World Down Syndrome Day Q&A - Feat. Teacher of Patience Documentary Panel

Q&A event for folks to ask Tom, Tina, and Emily Felter questions about their experiences, particularly with Down syndrome.

About this Event

25 years ago, Emily was born with Down syndrome. Tom, a paramedic, and Tina, a labor/delivery nurse, were not prepared to hear this news, or for the world of questions, emotions, and the great unknown that would follow. Fast forward to today, this family is dedicated to educating others about how to respect and communicate empathetically with individuals with Down syndrome and other disabilities.

This year on World Down Syndrome Day, Teacher of Patience Documentary subjects Tom, Tina, and Emily Felter will take part in a live Q&A event for you to come and ask them ANY question. Seriously, no topic is off-limits. Like, Tom WILL talk about Emily's menstrual cycle if you ask. And Emily will happily play you some of Taylor Swift's greatest hits, solicited or unsolicited.

So come join us for an afternoon of exploring what it means to be a parent of a child with Down syndrome, what it means to be an individual with Down syndrome, and what we can all do to be advocates for inclusion and equity, all within the Felter's contexts.

Tickets to this event are donation-based, and all proceeds go towards funding Teacher of Patience (www.teacherofpatience.com), a documentary about the Felter's and their experiences.

Once registered, a Zoom link will be sent out before the event. Please email any questions you may have to Carmen Vincent, the director/producer, at carmenvincentfilms@gmail.com.

We can't wait to see you there!
