Diversability has been selected to receive $25k in additional funding to continue growing our community!

As many of you know, we participated in Facebook’s Community Accelerator program – a six-month program to equip impactful communities with the skills and funding to grow.

The program concluded last month with virtual Demo Days that provided a forum for investors, advisors and community advocates to engage, and hopefully partner, with program participants. The virtual showcases gave each of the 77 participants a chance to share their milestones and goals for the future.

On December 17, 2020, Facebook announced the program participants who would receive additional funding, as decided by a panel of judges and the program participants themselves based on our pitches, execution capabilities, vision for next steps, and impact of the additional funding. Each recipient will receive $25,000 USD in additional funding.

Disability work rarely gets funding (2% of international funding as per the Ford Foundation), so it is especially meaningful to be recognized in this way.

Special thanks to our Diversability accelerator team—Kieran, Haseeb, Erika, and Mariya—and the rest of our team who supported them, for all their work on executing our growth plans.

We’re incredibly excited to keep up our momentum and can’t wait to share what’s next!
