Christalle Takes Over Diversability's Instagram

In case you missed it, we have been hosting a series of Instagram takeovers, featuring members of our community. Christalle just finished her takeover and took the time to answer a few more questions for us.

What is your name? Christalle Bodiford

Where are you from? I’m originally from Dothan, Alabama, but I’ve also lived in Georgia and California. I currently live in Austin, TX.

Why did you choose to participate in your takeover? I’ve learned so much from Diversability, and I wanted to share my perspective in hopes of helping others learn more about epilepsy, which many consider to be an invisible disability.

What is something you wanted to share but didn’t get to during your takeover? This month I’m participating in Living Well With Epilepsy’s epilepsy blog relay. What does Diversability mean to you? Sharing perspectives of differently abled people to educate and spread awareness in an abled world.

This is the last post for my takeover. 😭😭😭😭 But seriously, it's been great sharing the past week with you! 💘 - If you enjoyed following along and want to continue following my journey you can do so at @christallebodiford 😬 - I'd like to leave you with a few facts about #epilepsy. 💜 * Approximately 3 million people in the US and 60 million worldwide live with epilepsy. * Epilepsy is not rare and can happen to anyone at any time in their life. * Epilepsy is not contagious nor is it caused by evil spirits. * If someone has a seizure, you should refrain from putting objects in their mouth. * There are over 40 types of seizures and not all are convulsive. - Seizure First Aid: * Roll the person on their side. * Remove anything from their neck area. * Time the seizure. * Call 911 of the seizure has lasted longer than 5 minutes, is the person's first seizure, or the person injures themself during the seizure. - [Image Description: A woman stands in a field and smiles.
