Nieta M. Greene is a disability liberation advocate, political organizer, and CEO and Founder of Disability Community for Democracy, Inc. They also serve as Secretary of the Cambridge Commission for Persons with Disabilities Advisory Board. As a Disabled Puerto Rican, Black, gender non-conforming, gay woman who has lived with disabilities since childhood, Nieta brings deep personal experience to their work advancing intersectional disability justice and political empowerment. Their advocacy centers community-led solutions, disability liberation, and the belief that disabled people should have meaningful power in the decisions that affect their lives. Following the 2024 election, Nieta founded Disability Community for Democracy to protect disability rights, strengthen political engagement, and transform systemic barriers into opportunities for collective action. Their work focuses on ensuring that people who are often excluded from political processes have the tools, support, and platforms to participate. In November 2025, the organization received the Awesome Disability Grant Award, recognizing its commitment to advancing equity and collective liberation. Through organizing, leadership, and community advocacy, Nieta is helping build a more politically engaged and empowered disability community.
