Brittanie Hernandez-Wilson is a disabled, Black, Mexican, and Queer advocate advancing disability justice through intersectional leadership. Grounded in self-advocacy, her work ensures that policies reflect the lived experiences of those most marginalized. As former Equity and Justice Director at The Arc Minnesota, she led statewide campaigns to dismantle ableism and champion the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In 2024, Brittanie helped pass legislation requiring disability justice training for educators and reformed the Medical Assistance for Employed Persons with Disabilities (MA-EPD) program to increase access. She also trained over 25 organizations on ableism, sparking structural change in education and government. Now based in California, Brittanie serves as the California Lead Homecare Organizer with Hand in Hand, continuing her advocacy for domestic workers and families. Her work builds bridges between movements, rooted in community care and systems transformation.
