Allie Burke, bestselling author of Paper Souls, has teamed up with Diversability Interactive to host a monthly writing meetup and coaching session to promote quality style and diversity among the literary community.
557 Block is a reference to El Floridita, a bar in Cuba that Hemingway used to frequent. The address of the bar is, of course, 557. The literary tone of Allie’s sessions invite writers who are experiencing writer’s block to join her in commandeering Hemingway’s solution for writer’s block: write one true sentence.
Members from all over the United States will be joining for the initial session, including CEO and Founder of Stigma Fighters, Sarah Fader. 557 Block is sponsored by CTRL Collective in Los Angeles. The meets are on the third Thursday of every month at 6 PM PST.
The writing meet-up is also going to be online! Those of us with laptops/tablets are going to connect to GoToMeeting. If anyone has questions let one of us know.
